KomárnoBoard Game Club

This is a club,
not a pub!

  • Do not disturb other people's games.
  • No shouting! …though the odd cry of victory is allowed. ☺
  • Keep the place tidy and clean — the washroom too.
  • When you leave, put everything back where you found it.
  • Do not wake the Balrog!
  • A gentleman duels on the island at dawn.
  • If you like coming here, please support the club!

At the club

These rules apply to everyone who comes into the club: members, guests and anyone with them.

Club nights and booking a table

Two club nights a week. Coming with a bigger group? Book a table ahead.

We run two club nights a week: Wednesday and Saturday. We pack up together at closing, so please do not start a multi-hour game in the last half hour.

For bigger games, roleplaying evenings, or if you are coming as a larger group, book a table ahead! Large tables: for wargame battles and for board games that need a lot of room (e.g. Heroes of Might and Magic). Smaller tables: ideal for ordinary board games and skirmish games (e.g. Kill Team). If you are not sure, just say in the booking note what you plan to play and we will help you find the right spot when you arrive. Important: if you cannot make it after all, please cancel with the link in your confirmation e-mail — that way you are not holding a table other people could use.

The club's games, terrain and accessories

It is all shared. What you take off the shelf is your responsibility. Nothing goes home with anyone.

  • The games on the shelf are shared and anyone may use them. What you take down is yours to look after until it is back in its place.
  • Please take only one game off the shelf at a time. When you finish, put everything back complete in its own box, and the box back where it was.
  • If a piece goes missing or gets damaged, tell us the same day. Nobody will be cross — the sooner we know, the easier it is to replace or repair.
  • Taking games home is not allowed. Our games already have a home: the club.

The miniatures, buildings and accessories are shared — and more fragile than they look! Handle them gently: always lift terrain with both hands. Roll dice into the tray or on your own side of the table — never among the miniatures! Leave the dice where they land until your opponent has seen the result too. At the end of the game, put every piece of terrain back on the shelf you took it from.

Other people's things, and games in progress

Always ask before touching someone else's miniatures or kit, and respect that they are in the middle of a game. Do not disturb them, and if they ask, please leave them to it.

  • Always ask before touching another person's miniatures, cards or models. Remember: a painted army is often tens or hundreds of hours of work.
  • If someone hands you a miniature, always hold it by the base. Weapons, banners and wings are the most fragile — they break first.
  • If an accident happens anyway and you break something, tell the owner straight away. Nobody will bite your head off: every one of us has broken a miniature.

For games in progress: do not move the table and do not take the chair from beside it! Packing up before closing: nothing stays on the tables after closing (apart from the terrain). If your match runs over several days, photograph the position at the end of the session before you pack up! We cannot take responsibility for armies, decks and personal valuables you bring with you, so please look after them and keep them in sight.

Starting out at the club

New to it? No problem — say so and we will find someone to teach you.

You do not need to know the rules. Say that you are new to the game and we will gladly help — we all started that way. In return, pass on what you learn to the next newcomer: what makes the club a club is the people, not the contents of the shelves.

Food, drink and tidying up

Food and drink are fine, just not right next to the games. Spirits and smoking are not allowed.

You are welcome to bring food and drink, but always keep them away from the games! Spilled fizzy drinks and greasy hands can do enormous damage. Handle cards, boxes and miniatures with clean hands only, and leave the table so the next person can sit down at it. Smoking: smoking and e-cigarettes (vapes) are banned anywhere in the club, and open flames are not allowed either. Alcohol: we do not sell alcohol. A beer or a soft drink alongside a game is fine, but please do not come to a club night drunk — this has to stay a sober and friendly community space, and the organisers may at any time remove anyone who is in no fit state!

Children and photographs

Age limits and photographs

Children are very welcome — we have plenty of games made specifically for them! We ask that anyone under 15 comes with a parent, legal guardian or another responsible adult, who is responsible for supervising them for the whole club night. (At some larger events the organisers may set different rules.) We sometimes take photographs and video at club nights and tournaments. KTKlub o.z. may publish these on its website and its community channels. If you would rather not appear, just tell an organiser beforehand!

If something is wrong

Tell an organiser, or write to info@ktklub.com. Everything is handled in complete confidence.

If someone is behaving unpleasantly, or you run into any kind of problem, tell an organiser on the spot or write to us at info@ktklub.com! We take every report seriously and handle it discreetly. Anyone who still does not follow the rules after a warning can be asked to leave, and we may restrict their visits to the club. Use of the website and the app is covered by the rules below.

In force from 8 September 2026

In the app and our other community spaces

These rules apply everywhere you can come into contact with other members. To the features inside the club's own platforms (profile, club chat, finding opponents, D&D sessions, private messages). And to the club's external community channels (our shared Messenger group, for example, or our Discord server).

Behaviour, chat, messages

Argue about the rules at most, never with the person. Harassment and spam have no place here.

Our most important principle is simple: treat other people the way you would want to be treated. Talking about games and about the club is always welcome, but personal attacks, insults and harassment are strictly off limits.

  • No vulgar, offensive, racist, sexist or hateful messages.
  • No spam, repeated messages or advertising.
  • Do not share other users' personal information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.).
  • Threats, harassment and cyberbullying are forbidden.
  • Messages sent in the app are deleted after the date of the game in question; the chat is only for arranging and agreeing matches.

Profile content

Nickname, bio and profile picture must not be offensive to anyone

Nickname: must not contain obscene, racist, sexual or otherwise offensive wording. Impersonating another user or a real person is strictly forbidden. Bio: must not contain obscene, hateful, sexually explicit or discriminatory text. Profile picture: must not contain nudity, violent or sexual content, or anything else inappropriate. Uploading photographs of other people without their consent is forbidden. The club may block an account that breaks these rules at any time.

Finding opponents, D&D, booking a table

Book only as many places as you are coming — and if something comes up, cancel.

  • Posting fake game listings or D&D sessions purely to hold places or tables is not allowed.
  • Something come up? Please delete your booking or drop out of the session so somebody else can take the place.
  • The online rules apply in person too: treat other people with respect at the club and at events as well.
  • If something comes up, cancel the table with the link in your confirmation e-mail so somebody else can take it.
  • Book a table for as many players as are actually coming
  • If a member repeatedly misses booked sessions without cancelling, the organisers reserve the right to restrict their booking privileges.

Reporting, and what follows

Seen something that breaks the rules? Report it!

If you see a profile or a message that breaks these rules, please use the Report function in the chat, or contact us at info@ktklub.com.

When the rules are broken, an administrator may issue a warning, ban the use of chat temporarily or permanently, or suspend or delete the account. How severe that is always depends on what happened and how serious it was.

We may change these rules from time to time. We will let you know by e-mail, on the website, or with a notification in the app. Effective: September 8, 2026

A little more formally

Everything above is about enjoying each other's company. A few basic things, though, are set out in the club's official rules — these are the key points, worth skimming even if you never work through the full text:

  1. Everyone takes part in club activities at their own risk.
  2. Anyone who damages club property deliberately or through gross negligence — the furniture, the terrain tables or the scenery — is required to make it good.
  3. We do not sell alcohol and we do not run a bar. Members may drink their own at their own risk, but it may not be given to anyone under 18, or to anyone visibly drunk. The organiser may restrict or forbid drinking where there is reason to — and the club has used that to rule out spirits.
  4. We expect civil behaviour, by ordinary standards of decency. Insulting other players, violence, cheating during a game, being drunk to excess and a plain lack of personal hygiene are all grounds for being barred; serious or repeated breaches can mean entry to the club is restricted, temporarily or permanently.
  5. Trading or running a business on club premises is not allowed.
  6. Blades, weapons and anything else dangerous to public safety must not be brought into the club room.
  7. If you notice an accident, an injury, a technical fault or anything else out of order, tell whoever is on duty.

You can download the full rules as adopted by the board below. If the two texts differ in any way, the downloadable document is the one that counts.
