About the game
Warhammer 40,000 is the world’s most popular miniatures wargame, set in the dark, dystopian future of the 41st millennium. Humanity endures within a vast yet decaying empire, besieged on all sides by enemies — and in the grim darkness, there is only war.
You command armies of thousands — from infantry and massive tanks to air support and ancient machines. Each faction offers a unique playstyle and a deeply developed lore built over decades by Games Workshop.
Every battle is a new story you create. Your decisions shape the outcome — and no two battles are ever the same.
Within these three main factions, there are many sub-factions (such as the Necrons or the Imperial Guard).
40+ years of written worldbuilding — books, films, games. The 40K universe is both vast and intricately detailed.
Assembling and painting miniatures is an outstanding hobby in itself. There are no two identical armies in the world.
